Happy Pancake Day! Also known as Shrove Tuesday or Pancake Tuesday, this is celebrated the day before Ash Wednesday – as a last day to indulge in something rich in eggs, milk and fat before Lent fasting begins. Today, let the kids (adults, too!) create their own pancakes. Have the batter ready then assemble a variety of toppings for them to choose from like chocolate chips, sliced bananas, marshmallows, grated cheese, chocolate syrup, Nutella and peanut butter. Don’t forget the butter and syrup!

PANCAKE DAY SENSORY MESSY PLAY 🥞 Shrove Tuesday is better known as Pancake Day in the UK and it's almost universally celebrated, regardless of its Christian roots. Pancake day is an institution all in itself! 😂 Before we eat the real thing later (as our evening meal!) I set up this messy play tray for Bunny after nursery this afternoon. Flour (the quantity limited by having it in a flour dredger so it pours out very slowly), a little water, and some utensils. She made me approximately ten bill
