Troy Baker was constantly trying to get deep, thoughtful and analytical about the Last of Us during that playthrough, whereas Nolan North just refused to be serious at any point and just wanted to crack jokes. Neither one's in the wrong they were just in it for different things.
Anyone else find Troy Baker slightly insufferable? : r/thelastofus
Nah, Troy is fine. I would recommend the Play, Watch, Listen podcast by Alanah Pearce featuring Troy Baker, Mike Bithell and Austin Wintory. It's really fun listen to listen to and Troy's tendency to go off on a tangent in any discussion is well known and leads to hilarious moments.

Gearbox wanted to pay him (and colleagues) less, as is their right to do... but he's been totally professional about it all, and I think it's Gearbox that comes off looking worse.
Do people dislike Troy Baker here? : r/RetroReplay - Reddit
Jun 2, 2020 · There's a couple personality quirks about troy that bugged me during his time on the show (Always criticizing Nolan's gameplay while claiming his was better when it wasn't, sometimes he gave off a vibe that he was upset about something, he was occasionally pretentious) but I loved the dynamic of the show with the both of them, and everyone has …
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle - Gameplay Reveal Trailer - Reddit
Jan 18, 2024 · Love Troy Baker, but he doesn’t really sound all that much like Harrison Ford here. His voice just sounds too refined, and is missing that iconic gruffness. Indiana Jones is supposed to be a lovable asshole. But what really concerns me is the writing.
