The grounds are overgrown with weeds and much of the structure has fallen to disrepair. The site has become a destination for graffiti taggers and abandonment tourists alike.

Construction began on Cooper Stadium in 1932 (first named Red Bird Stadium) and since completion it has hosted several baseball teams, including the Columbus Red Birds, the Negro League Columbus Blue Birds, the Columbus Jets and finally, the Columbus Clippers.

Cooper Stadium was the home of the Columbus Clippers of the International League. The "Coop" opened in 1932 and was renovated several times, but still retained the classic look of a 1930s ballpark. A big, semi-circular grandstand covered by a massive roof.
