It seems to work okay when I try to subtract backgrounds from my original data.

Aug 8, 2018 · I found the peak analysis tools, but I think I need to analyze the heating and cooling parts of the curve separately to avoid problems with the tool. Is there an easy and automatic way to have Origin split my data at the maximum and minimum temperature values? Also if I ran several temperature cycles and the data are stored in the same file?

Origin 8.6 SR3 Operating System: Win7 64-bit I have just upgraded from version 7.5 to 8.6 and find that the behavior of the data selector tool has changed in a way that is causing problems for me. Previously I could move through the data set 1 point at a time by holding the CTRL key and using the left and right cursor on the keyboard.

Oct 24, 2001 · The Mask tool becomes active if you change your data display from Line to either Line+Symbol or Scatter. If you still want to keep the Line display, you can edit the point size of the symbols in a Line+Symbol plot to zero after you've masked out the extraneous data points.

Jul 8, 2003 · hi easwar! thanks for trying all those things what I do now is that after importing the ascii-files into my graph, and processing the first spectrum with analysis|subtract|reference data, I make a worksheet of the second and the zero spectrum , copy the columns into a second worksheet, where where i subtract them by using "set column values.."

Sep 19, 2006 · You have already figured out the outline.. :) First, FFT (Details are available in Origin 7 Reference: Data Analysis: Fast Fourier Transform (FFT)). Then the spectrum is altered with a rectangular filter window. And finally, an IFFT is performed. Padding might occur before FFT. Please see the Origin 7 Reference.

Origin's FFT tool has five windowing methods (see Help > Origin > Data Analysis > Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) for details.) If additional smoothing is required then plot the Y column and select Analysis > Smoothing > (pick a method) before doing the fft.
