The Hasty Pudding Theatricals have presented their unique brand of student-written theater every year since 1844, the only exceptions being for World Wars I and II and the COVID-19 pandemic. In 1795, twenty-one Harvard students crowded into a dorm room to celebrate the establishment of a new on-campus society.

Every year, the Hasty Pudding Theatricals bestows the Man of the Year (MOY) and Woman of the Year (WOY) awards on performers who have made lasting and impressive contributions to the world of entertainment. The Woman of the Year award dates back to 1951 with our first honoree Gertrude Lawrence.
