Injured Canada Goose. What should I do? - BackYard Chickens
May 31, 2019 · I found the goose sitting outside the fence. Upon further investigation, the goose is suffering from an injury to its foot or leg. The other geese eventually flew off last night but I don't believe the injured one went with them. I found the injured goose outside the fence again early this afternoon, still unable to use it's left leg/foot.

Jun 9, 2011 · Here's what I know about the U.S., but things might be different in Canada. In the U.S., it is not illegal to own a Canada goose per se, but it is illegal to keep a wild Canada goose. You might think about handing him over to a wildlife rehabber if you can find one close to you. Or, at least contacting one and asking about it.
Greater/Lesser Canada Geese. What is the difference?
Feb 4, 2010 · There are seven different sub-species of canada geese. In NW Oregon, hunters are required to study and pass a test in order to hunt canada geese to avoid shooting the dusky sub-species. Apr 1, 2012 · The one on the left was the only male, and all four have very distinct honks that are a combination of a Canada goose call and a domestic goose call. All four can fly, and the females can cluck like a domestic female. The gander, and the dark female both left with Canada goose flocks, the two white females live permanently at the park.

Oct 7, 2015 · Going to try and take my son and grandson on a Canada Goose hunt locally here in Utah this year. We all shoot 12 ga 3" magnum guns. What is the preferred shot for over decoys? We normally shoot #3 shot for ducks and that works very well on them but we've never hunted geese before and I want to use what experience has taught others works best.

Canada goose on her nest with eggs, NO MALE...should I worry?
Apr 28, 2020 · Canada Goose has been sitting on her nest for a few days...no male ANYWHERE...other geese on the property have hatched their eggs and moved on with the babies, but THIS one is still brooding...I have approached her nest twice (once when she was off grazing) and there is no male anywhere.

May 5, 2012 · Get some duck/goose feed [feed stores] or if they don't have it get an all flock feed. start putting food out and win it's trust then take it home and take care of it. an injured or birth defect gosling will be picked off by a pred pretty quick. Bless you for wanting to help.
