There has never been a sister duo in professional sports quite like tennis icons Venus and Serena Williams. It all began with Venus, the older of the two, and eventually continued with Serena, who officially retired from the sport in 2022.

Venus Williams shared her struggle with fibroids and says doctors dismissed her extreme period pain, nausea, and anemia for most of her life.

After beating Serena in the semifinals, Venus Williams took home the Venus Rosewater Dish in 2000 and didn’t stop there, rolling to six more majors and a 35-match win streak.
