Temperatures will increase across the United Kingdom over the next few days, rising above the official heatwave threshold. They are likely to peak at 34C on Friday and possibly Saturday too. This heatwave, for many the third of the summer, will persist into early next week.
On Friday temperatures are forecast to hit 31 degrees in London and Cardiff, while Manchester could also hit 29 degrees. Saturday is also set to see highs of 30 degrees across the UK, with highs of 29 degrees also predicted for Glasgow.
