Apple is announcing a new AppleCare subscription called AppleCare One that lets you cover multiple products with a single plan. For $19.99 per month, AppleCare One covers up to three products, and tacking on a new product costs $5.99 per month each.

The new Apple Care One plan offers extensive coverage for up to three of your Apple devices for one monthly fee of $20. But there are some caveats.

The United Kingdom's Competition and Markets Authority is pushing the two operating system providers to make competition more open for other developers.

The U.K.’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) announced on Wednesday a proposal that would give Apple and Google’s mobile platforms “strategic market status” — a designation that allows the regulator to create rules that could change how their app stores operate and how their mobile software works.

"Around 90-100% of UK mobile devices running on Apple or Google's mobile platforms," the CMA said, adding this means the firms "hold an effective duopoly". Apple said it is concerned the ruling would negatively impact its customers in the UK, while Google called the decision "both disappointing and unwarranted".
