UAH says so far, it hasn’t found a home conference for its hockey team, so the program has been suspended. But that doesn’t necessarily mean hockey at the school is going away.
UAH hockey supporters last spring raised $750,000 to rescue the program for the 2020-2021 season. The Chargers compiled a 3-18-1 record last season.
The celebration is on for UAH hockey after the school announced May 29, 2020, that it would bring the program back. It had been eliminated on May 22, 2020, as a cost-cutting measure by the school.
UAH says they are working to continue the UAH Division I ice hockey program on a long-term basis with the support of alumni as well as the university administration and the Huntsville community.
