The shapes will only available in the U.S., and fans will won't have to wait long to enjoy their bowl of nostalgia. Classic Trix will start appearing on shelves nationwide this month.

In 1991, though, General Mills made a big change: They introduced fruit-shaped Trix pieces, laying to rest the spherical shape that had characterized the cereal for its nearly 40-year history.

Trix is going back to the fruit shapes that made up the cereal from 1991-2006 after demand from Trix lovers.

The change comes after the company relaunched Classic Trix, which brought back the bright colors the iconic cereal was known for. Now, the company says the fruity shapes are back.
