Stoughton was one of six communities asked to resubmit construction grant applications by Jan. 19 to the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners, which is considering 30 grant requests in all.

State and Stoughton officials, as well as library patrons, recently celebrated the start of a $14 million renovation and expansion of the town’s public library with a groundbreaking ceremony.

Stoughton Public Library’s 2014 Summer Reading Program has been a huge success. The "Fizz, Boom, Read" themed program for children had more than 600 participants this year.
