Despite the outcry of the neighborhood over the past year, the Safeway grocery store on Webster Street in the Fillmore neighborhood is officially closing its doors on Friday.

In the same week that Safeway shuttered its San Francisco Fillmore District store and announced the upcoming departure of its Pinole store, the grocery chain broke the news of yet another Bay Area store closure.
