IEEE Spectrum's top programming languages for 2022 are slightly different to Tiobe's, but Python is also the top language. It's followed by C, C++, C#, Java, SQL, JavaScript, R, HTML, TypeScript.

Rounding out the top 20 were Arduino, Matlab, PHP, Dart, SQL, Ruby, Rust, Assembly, Kotlin and Julia. IEEE Spectrum's rankings are one measure of what languages are worth investing time in to learn.
