As per the report by Pune Mirror, the crime happened on Saturday evening near Prati Shirdi temple. Shirgaon is a village in Mawal taluka of the Pune district located at around 50 km from the city.

To go from Pune to Shirdi, one has to move on the Mumbai Highway and then at Abhiyantriki College Chowk. You have to turn slightly towards the right and move on the Old Mumbai Pune Highway for 9 km.
