The second phase of the Silver Line, which will become part of the D.C. region’s Metro system, will cost an additional $250 million.

Inside a document posted ahead of WMATA’s board meeting this Thursday, Metro says simulated service on the $3 billion Phase 2 expansion of the Silver Line will take place Oct. 3 through Oct. 17.

Phase 1 of the Silver Line opened in 2014. It extended Metrorail service from East Falls Church to the eastern edge of Reston. WTOP’s Neal Augenstein contributed to this report.
