OU softball coach Patty Gasso became the first Sooners female coach or athlete honored with a statue on campus Friday when her statue was dedicated in front of Love's Field.

Patty Gasso has been OU’s softball coach since 1995. She’s a Californian who has been adopted by her new home state. Last November, the 60-year-old was inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame.
