NASA’s GUSTO balloon telescope will map part of the Milky Way The first to be funded as part of the Explorers Program, GUSTO will spend at least 55 days floating above Antarctica.

The telescope, part of the next generation of optical telescopes now under construction or development around the world, will be one of the largest optical telescopes ever built when completed.
