The Poway Community Foundation will host its inaugural Brews & Boots Festival next month to raise funds that can be awarded to nonprofit organizations.

Now, a local foundation is leading that same mission in every public school in Detroit, beginning this year with Mumford High School.

There is precious little celebration associated with July 17 — unless one happens to be a member of my family.
