Many of the 17 million projected to lose Medicaid coverage will turn to struggling free health clinics. They need more financial support.

Over the next decade, the bill is expected to cut federal funds for Idaho Medicaid by $4.3 billion and reduce Idaho Medicaid’s enrollment by as much as 40,000 people, estimates in early June from the group Manatt show. The analysis assumes work requirements will cut Medicaid enrollment and costs.

Oklahoma has received a score of 49th in the nation for its health care in 2025, and with projected funding cuts to Medicaid, local providers project loss of services. The top scores given by The Commonwealth Fund ranked Massachusetts,

"Traditional Medicare has roughly 20% cost-sharing," Sommers said. "For people who have both Medicaid and Medicare, Medicaid covers those costs.
