The 13th death anniversary of eminent playwright, novelist, lyricist and filmmaker Humayun Ahmed is being observed across the country on Saturday through various commemorative programmes.

The literature icon is survived by two sons, Ninit and Nishad, with his second wife Meher Afroze Shaon and three daughters - Nova, Shila, Bipasha and son Nuhash Humayun with his first wife Gultekin ...

Sheela and Nuhash, two other children from Humayun's first wife Gultekin, were also present at the briefing. "We want him buried at a place where anybody can pay a visit to his grave," Nova had said.

It was the latter course which Humayun Ahmed's first wife, a woman of dignity by any measure and by any interpretation, chose to adopt. Her life was rudely trifled with when she least expected it.
