Enter the characters you want to display in subscript using the default font size, if they are not already in the cell. Select the cell or the text you want to convert.

Hold "Shift-Option-Command-+" to enter subscript numbers in Adobe InDesign, PageMaker or QuarkXPress if you're using a Mac. Press the same command sequence to return to normal editing mode.
