Logan Davidson has a new home in professional baseball. The former Clemson shortstop was claimed off waivers by the Houston Astros on Friday after being designated for assignment by the Oakland Athletics earlier in the week. He’s been optioned to Triple-A Sugar Land, where he’ll continue his season with the Space Cowboys.
The right-hander gave the bullpen a bit of a breather by fighting threw six innings, but A’s hitters battered him for 11 hits and five runs. He relied mostly on his changeup and sinker, throwing them a combined 69 times. The sinker drew 21 swings with only one whiff.
