Google Play Music has been updated with a set of Google Labs features, including desktop notifications, a new HTML5-compliant music player, and a new ratings system.

Google has added a few experimental features to Google Music including the ability to trigger desktop notifications in Chrome, an HTML5 player, and five star rating in place of the thumbs up.
