GWAR, which will perform Thursday at the Knitting Factory, has released 16 albums, including 2022’s “The New Dark Ages,” but it’s primarily about the show.

Even after famed frontman Oderus Urungus (aka Dave Brockie) passed away in 2014, GWAR forges on, including releasing two albums since then and landing a Tiny Desk concert on NPR last year.

For nearly four decades, the band has terrorized planet Earth with its raucous stage shows, raunchy metal songs and grotesque satire. GWAR finally came to destroy the Tiny Desk, once and for all.
