NEWBERRY, S.C. — A man from Greenwood, South Carolina, has been sentenced to prison after a violent attack on a detention officer, according to the 8th Circuit Solicitor's Office.

According to the Eighth Circuit Solicitor, 36-year-old Tavon Dorsett Morton pleaded guilty to one count of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature.
