LA CROSSE (WKBT) -- The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources says it's found a school of invasive carp gathering in Pool 8 of the Mississippi River at the confluence of the Root River.

It was officially confirmed as a state record for the archery category. Grass carp is a non-native species that is naturally occurring in Idaho and other parts of the U.S.

Riley Farden's grass carp set a new state-record, smashing the bowfishing record and easily outweighing the rod-and-reel record.
