Twitter has taken down a GitHub listing in which a significant amount of the social media site’s source code was leaked, according to a legal finding on Friday acquired by The New York Times.
The GitHub user who posted the Twitter source code has the username "FreeSpeechEnthusiast," possibly a reference to Twitter owner Elon Musk casting himself as a protector of free speech.
The company had GitHub take the code down on Friday and asked a U.S. District Court in California to order GitHub to unmask the uploader, along with anyone who downloaded the code.
