Unlike similar systems, the Molten Salt Flow Loop Test Bed allows for continuous, real-time monitoring and analysis that makes molten salt research much more efficient and effective.

The flow loop is one of only a handful of its kind available for industry research, development and testing and will play a central role in an ongoing SwRI project to reduce methane emissions.

“The instrumentation and sensor testing in flow loop environment is one-of-a-kind,” said Ruchi Gakhar, a lead scientist for INL’s Advanced Technology of Molten Salts program.
