Jets snag former Chargers tight end Stone Smartt in NFL free agency

The Jets added a tight end Thursday, agreeing to a deal with free agent Stone Smartt. The 26-year-old spent the past three seasons with the Chargers. Last season, he had 16 catches for 208 yards and no touchdowns. The Jets are thin at tight end with last year’s starter, Tyler Conklin, still available in free agency.
