Most taxpayers eligible for the Economic Impact Payments have already received their EIP or Recovery Rebate Credit, also known as stimulus payments, the IRS said.

The Better Business Bureau is warning about a current text scam that uses a '$1,400 Economic Impact Payment' as bait.

The text reads, "You are eligible to receive a $1,400 Economic Impact Payment. Please provide your accurate personal information.

The text isn't real, but here's the problem, people are getting Economic Impact Payments from the IRS. Those payments are automatic. Taxpayers don't have to do anything to get them.
