A smoky and FDNY-lined Van Brunt Street sent neighbors pouring out onto the pavement after a manhole fire resulted in 35 people without power in Red Hook.
The FDNY says it responded to Beverly Road in Flatbush just before 5 a.m. Friday for reports of a manhole fire. At one point in the day, at least 1,700 customers were without power.
The FDNY says the cause of the fire is still under investigation. Con Edison tells News 12 they're hoping to get power back up at some point tonight.
