The Cleveland Guardians saw shortstop Gabriel Arias flash some leather to get Kansas City Royals All-Star Bobby Witt Jr. out at first.

Friday: The Guardians open a three-game series against the Royals at Kauffman Stadium. It will be RHP Gavin Williams (6-4, 3.54) vs. RHP Michael Wacha (4-9. 3.62) at 8:10 p.m. Apple TV+, WTAM 1100, WMMS 100.7 FM and the Guardians radio network will carry the game.

Cleveland Guardians rookie shortstop Dean Curley has officially signed his contract with the team, according to MLB.com’s Jim Callis. The second-round pick will make roughly $1.77 million, which is above the pick value of $1.

Arias will play shortstop and hit sixth for the Guardians in their series opener against the Kansas City Royals. Arias had a .263 batting average and a .474 slugging percentage in the week leading up to the injury. Hopefully, he can pick up right where he left off.
