The first Icon-class ship, Icon of the Seas, will sail its first revenue voyage on Jan. 27. The Icon can carry 7,600 passengers at max capacity. Future ships will be a similar size.

Icon of the Seas was a huge success for Royal Caribbean, but that doesn’t mean Star of the Seas is an exact copy of its sister ship.

Royal Caribbean announced the name and home port for its third Icon-class ship that is set to inherit the title of world's largest cruise ship when it debuts in 2026.

Its older sister, the Icon, is scheduled to sail a maiden cruise in January 2024. Royal Caribbean is positioning the Icon class as a hub of innovation for family vacations.
