Earlier, CBSE has given exemption to offer Mathematics (041) in Class 11 and 12 to the students who were offered Mathematics (Basic) in Class 10 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Starting in the 2025–26 school year, students who took Mathematics Basic (code 241) in Class 10 will be able to pursue Mathematics Standard (code 041) in Class 11.
While Mathematics (Standard) caters to those wish to pursue the subject in higher studies, Mathematics (Basic) is designed for those who do not wish to continue with it beyond Class 10.
