Android 16 is potentially redesigning the volume slider and panel UI, moving away from the thick, pill-shaped sliders introduced in Android 15 to thinner, continuous sliders with distinct handles.

Last but not least, Android 15’s redesigned volume panel shows a slider for Cast volume when the context demands it. You can also collapse the sheet through a button next to the “Media” slider.
Google is also working to update the volume slider to match this new design. As you can see below, the volume slider in Android 16 will be less rounded and will have a thin rectangular handle.
While there’s still a lot we don’t know about Android 16 and the changes it will incorporate, it looks like we may see some design changes to both the back button and the volume slider.
