The US military has shot down an object over Lake Huron hours after airspace over Lake Michigan was closed, U.S. Representatives confirm.

The Federal Aviation Administration has abruptly canceled a "national defense airspace" over part of Lake Michigan, the organization announced Sunday.

Construction will continue until November for the $13 million project, said Miguel Castillo project engineer for the agency.

The Federal Aviation Administration closed space above Lake Michigan on Sunday, designating the area as a National Defense airspace.
