Robert Benaglio, of Dryden, matched the five white balls in the Dec. 23 Powerball drawing to win. He bought his winning ticket at the Metamora BP, located at 3839 South Lapeer Road in Metamora.

Powerball draws on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays at 10:59 p.m. The odds of winning the jackpot with a $2 ticket are 1 in 292,201,338. Mega Millions draws on Tuesdays and Fridays at 11 p.m. The odds of winning the jackpot with a $2 ticket are 1-in-302,575,350.

“I have bought a Powerball ticket for one drawing each week for 10 years,” Robert Benaglio said, according to a Jan. 22 news release from the Michigan Lottery. So, he purchased a ticket for the Dec. 23 drawing at a gas station in Metamora. This time, winning him a $1 million prize.
