The Philadelphia Phillies’ West Coast swing continues Saturday night in San Diego for Game 2 of their weekend series.

The Phillies activated the bonus clause in the pitcher's contract and will earn an additional $50,000 from the organization: “Everyone knows I’m an All-Star here.”

Philadelphia Phillies starter Cristopher Sánchez is 7-2 with a 2.59 ERA and 116 strikeouts over 18 starts, but that wasn't good enough to make the National League All-Star team.

While MLB omitted the honors for the Phillies' starter, the club still activated Cristopher Sanchez's All-Star bonus clause.

The Phillies criticized MLB after two of their pitchers weren't named replacements but Jacob Misiorowski, after five starts, made the team.

As more players drop out of the game, Major League Baseball replaces them. On Friday night, the league announced that Jacob Misiorowski would join the All-Star Game, despite making just five career starts. Trea Turner did not hold back in his criticism of the league for opting to go with Misiorowski over his teammate Cristopher Sánchez.

Kyle Schwarber joins Mike Schmidt (31 in 1979) as the only Philadelphia Phillies to hit 30 homers before the All-Star break.

San Diego Padres left-hander Adrian Morejon was named to the National League All-Star team on Friday, replacing Phillies right-handed pitcher and Cy Young candidate Zack Wheeler.
