The Dodgers sent veteran reliever Ryan Brasier to the Cubs less than a week after he was designated for assignment.

Dodgers general manager Brandon Gomes explained the move at the time was made due to a need for “flexibility” — with Brasier and Yates, the Dodgers had eight relief options locked in for what would be a seven-man Opening Day bullpen.
