Ghislaine Maxwell is reportedly attempting to shorten her stay in federal prison. Maxwell, a co-conspirator of the infamous Jeffrey Epstein, was sentenced to 20 years behind bars for sex trafficking in 2021.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Ghislaine Maxwell’s attorney, David Oscar Markus, is a familiar face in Florida and Tallahassee. The Miami-based lawyer represented Andrew Gillum in his federal trial, which resulted in an acquittal and dismissal of the rest of the charges.

Although the meeting with the Department of Justice isn't occurring there, eyes are turning to the state capital's federal women's prison that houses Ghislaine Maxwell, former girlfriend to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and herself a convicted sex trafficker.

Miami defense attorney David O. Markus met with his client, Ghislaine Maxwell, who’s serving a 20-year sentence, and a Department of Justice top lawyer in Tallahassee regarding Epstein case.

Maxwell, 63, was found by the courts to have enabled the campaign of sexual abuse that her late friend and lover, Jeffrey Epstein, waged against young girls.
