Macworld Apple is reportedly building a more affordable, A18 Pro-powered MacBook slated to launch as early as this fall. Given that the entry-level MacBook Air M4 starts at a hefty $999, there’s still scope for a lower-end model that costs less.

Apple is expected to launch its next-generation M5-powered MacBook Pro lineup in early 2026, pushing back its usual year-end refresh cycle. While performance gains and Wi-Fi 7 support are likely, a major design overhaul and OLED display upgrade are now expected only in late 2026.

Plans to release the new MacBook Pro with an M5 chip are delayed, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. Typically, Apple has announced its new lineup of MacBook Pros with updated chips in October or November.
