Everton did local rival Liverpool a big favor in the Premier League title race by taking points off second-place Arsenal on Saturday. A 1-1 draw at Goodison Park left Arsenal 11 points behind Liverpool with seven games to play in what is looking like an increasingly forlorn task to catch the leaders.

Diogo Jota scored the only goal of the game as Liverpool extended their strong Merseyside derby record against Everton. The Portuguese striker ended his 10-goal goal drought to move his side 12 points clear at the top of the Premier League table.

Arsenal's small remaining hope of a first Premier League title for 21 years was further diminished after a 1-1 draw at Everton on Saturday.The Reds now need just 11 points from their remaining eight games to secure a record-equalling 20th English top-flight title.
