The Kansas City Chiefs were issued a stern reminder to adequately protect Patrick Mahomes after the star quarterback was sacked a career-high six times by the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX

Mahomes told AOL in 2019 that the hairstyle was the result of a friendly bet with a buddy when he was younger. They each grew out their hair and wanted to see who would go the longest before finally cutting it. “As I grew it out, I realized that I actually liked it a lot,” Mahomes told AOL Sports. “So, I kept it going.”

Kansas City is set to compete for its third consecutive title against the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LIX on February 9. A win over the Eagles would make the Chiefs the NFL’s first-ever back-to-back-to-back champions and set a new standard for excellence in the league that would be hard to replicate by future dynasties.
