After severe weather and heavy rain on Thursday, more storms are headed for Iowa on Friday afternoon prompting a tornado watch and flood watch.

A confirmed tornado is moving through Davenport, Iowa, prompting urgent warnings for people in the area to take shelter. The tornado was reportedly spotted just northwest of Davenport and is now heading toward Le Claire and Princeton.

Severe thunderstorms rolled across the Midwest Friday, bringing rounds of damaging wind gusts, torrential rains and even a few reported tornadoes.

A tornado watch has been issued for parts of central and eastern Nebraska, including the Omaha area, until 10 p.m. Thursday.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for parts of southwest and south central Iowa and northwest Missouri until 8 p.m.

Several counties in the northern part of the KSHB 41 News viewing area are included in a tornado watch on Friday.
