Garcia, who retired from the Dallas Police Department in 2024, is now under serious consideration to lead Fort Worth PD.

Garcia left his position before his agreement with the city ended in May 2027 for a city management role in Austin.

Of the 51 applicants, nine were interviewed in the semi-finalist round with four selected to move forward as finalists.
