The Dragon Bravo fire has burned more than 5,000 acres and destroyed numerous historic Grand Canyon structures.

July 14 (UPI) -- The Grand Canyon Lodge, a landmark hotel in Arizona, was destroyed by a wildfire tearing through the region, officials said. The National Park Service confirmed that the Grand Canyon Lodge and "numerous historic cabins in the developed area" were destroyed by the Dragon Bravo Fire.

Officials say crews battling the Dragon Bravo Fire on the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park continue to encounter extreme fire behavior as they attempt to save remaining structures.
