David Rhodes, Sky News executive chairman and former CBS News head, is in talks to run CBS News again if the Skydance acquisition of the broadcaster's owner Paramount Global closes, digital news website Puck reported on Friday.

CNN anchor Jake Tapper criticized CBS’s parent company over its recent decision to cancel “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” arguing that Paramount Global is in a “bend-the-knee phase” to President Trump.
Paramount Global said Tuesday that the entertainment and media company is cutting 3.5% of its workforce, citing challenges in the broader U.S. economy and in the linear television business.
Stephen Colbert riffed Paramount Global’s $16 million settlement of Donald Trump’s lawsuit, calling the payment a “big fat bribe” and joking about the prospects that new owner Skydance will try pressure him to back off from humor directed at the president.
