A 14-year-old Las Vegas girl was pummeled by a pickup truck while crossing the street on her way home from school, leaving her hospitalized with critical injuries.

In yesterday's incident, police said, the girl was walking home from Watkins Mill High School about 3 p.m. along a well-traveled path near Montgomery Village Avenue and Shadow Oak Drive.
