For about five years now, Star Wars shows on Disney+ have been the biggest way the franchise set in a galaxy far, far away has been staying afloat, with The Rise of Skywalker being the last of the released Star Wars movies in order.

Filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy is still attached to direct the story about Rey Skywalker, 15 years after the events of 2019’s The Rise of Skywalker. The plot is rumored that Rey, the granddaughter of Emperor Palpatine, will oversee a school of Jedis.

George Nolfi, known for his screenplay work on movies such as The Bourne Ultimatum and Ocean's 12, has been tapped to write New Jedi Order, the Daisy Ridley-centric Star Wars movie. The hiring signals continued faith in the project,

Lucasfilm has hired yet another screenwriter to bang out a new script for Star Wars: New Jedi Order. The still-in-development sci-fi sequel is set to bring back Daisy Ridley as Rey, if it can ever lock down a screenplay.
